Rigid polyurethane foam: our core business.
Polyurethanes belong to the family of plastics in which the polymer chain consists substantially of urethane bonds (-NH-(CO)-O-). They are obtained through a polyaddition reaction between a polyisocyanate and a polyol; this exothermic reaction is complete and does not generate secondary products.
A typical example of the bonds formed is as follows:

Various additives—such as catalysts, blowing agents, flame retardants, etc.—are used in the formulation and determine both the type of reaction and the properties of the resulting material. By modifying the type and concentration of the components, it is therefore possible to obtain a wide range of polyurethanes with highly diverse chemical and physical characteristics, performance levels, and uses.
Stiferite utilizes continuous foaming lines. Since 2005, the entire STIFERITE product range has been composed of PIR (Polyiso) foam, which offers enhanced physical-mechanical performance and superior fire reaction properties.
STIFERITE Polyiso foams are THERMOSETTING polymers:
■ Do not soften
■ Do not melt
■ Cannot sublimate
Stiferite panels are ALWAYS supplied with facers (facings) that vary depending on the intended application of the products.
