In 1963, STIFERITE thermal insulation panels were introduced. The name STIFERITE derives from the initials of its founder, STImamiglio FERdinando
Founded in Pomezia by Ferdinando Stimamiglio, STIFER pioneered the production of rigid polyurethane foam thermal insulation panels.
Originally developed for refrigeration applications, the technology was soon adapted for the thermal insulation of buildings. This marked the birth of STIFERITE panels, whose name combines the initials of founder STImamiglio
FERdinando Isolanti-TErmici).
Production was relocated to the new manufacturing facility in Padua.
The first energy crisis confirmed the value of STIFERITE's industrial vision. To meet the growing demand for high-performance thermal insulation, the company expanded its production capacity by adding a second production line.
STIFERITE expanded its research into new products featuring mineral fibre facings. The company became the first in Italy and Europe to voluntarily adopt ozone-friendly blowing agents, marking an important step forward in environmental responsibility.
STIFERITE's engineers are involved in the development of harmonised European standards, and since 2003 the entire product range has been CE marked. STIFERITE was the first to commercialise the use of new polyiso foams with improved mechanical strength, fire performance and dimensional stability.
STIFERITE develops and markets panels with gas-tight coatings, characterised by excellent insulating performance, as well as panels specifically designed for external thermal insulation cladding and complete systems for ventilated roofs.
STIFERITE's research has led to the development of insulation panels featuring the highest fire reaction performance achievable by organic materials. It was also the first to obtain the Euroclass B-s1,d0 fire reaction certification for the STIFERITE Fire B panel.
Pre-assembled products and systems have been developed to improve performance and facilitate installation, including innovative dry-construction solutions.
Our commitment to assessing and reducing environmental impacts is demonstrated by Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies and the first Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for expanded polyurethane insulation panels. In 2016, STIFERITE obtained certification, verified by IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V.), for the EPD issuance process across its entire product range.
The launch of the third production line allows the company to meet the demand for panels with thicknesses up to 200 mm.
Continuous research for the development of ever more high-performing and sustainable products.
