Financial Law 2008 – Deducting 55% of costs for energy regrading of existing buildings has been extended until 31 December 2010 through Law Nr. 244 article Nr. 1, paragraph 20, dated 24 December 2007.

The Italian Revenue Office issued the Circular Nr. 12/E on 19 February 2008 publishing the answers concerning questions about incentives for building restructurings and interventions for the energy savings and the taxation for the minimum taxpayers.

In Great Britain too, the post-war economic development resulted in a sudden demand for popular housing close to the large factories. Entire popular residential districts were planned and made with the aim of providing inexpensive housing; this was the context of development of a district on the outskirts of a city in Scotland where an important recovery plan has recently been carried out.
The vertical structures of about 200 buildings that make up the district, composed mostly of single-layer walls of local stone material, were seriously decayed and covered on the inside with thick layers of mould that made the homes unhealthy and uninhabitable.
