Indications
The safety mantle, useful for avoiding rising damp, becomes necessary in the presence of groundwater near the surface. The functions and types of the vapour barriers must be considered in relation to the internal and environmental hygrometric conditions.
The characteristics of the complementary materials are highlighted only to indicate a good level quality standard.

Specification wording
Safety mantle consisting of a bituminous membrane of 4 mm, with reinforcement in polyester fibre, turned up around the perimeters and welded to any insulating sheath in the wall.
Separating layer and vapour barrier, consisting of a polyethylene sheet, thickness 0.3 mm.
Laying the reinforcing mesh.
Vertical separator in closed-cell polyethylene foam, thickness 5-10 mm, laid on the perimeters and at the base of the elevated structures.
Casting the floor screed.
